In this lesson you are going to learn periodization.
Periodization basically means training in periods, blocks or chunks.
I like to start off with an athlete talking about a 3 or 4 week training cycle. Most choose a 4 week cycle but some find the 3 week cycle best. You may need to do a little experimenting with your training to see what you and your body like best.
Some people can have very complicated and detailed periodization for their training. I am a coach who likes planning for the future but not having workouts fine tuned down to the minute. I find having a flexible plan allow you to train with more breathing room and a little less stress.
