Lesson 4 Description
In this video you are going to learn about run cadence.
I started learning and focusing on my run cadence about 5 - 6 years ago and it has been a huge change and help for my running.
Basically what I learned is that I was running at too low of a cadence. I then needed to find a way to measure it, track it and then change it.
I choose to use a metronome that my kids used for music. There are now many other available options.
For the majority of us we will be targetting a run cadence between 80 - 89 rpm (revolutions per min) or 160 - 180 spm (steps per min).
Pay close attention to the video. Measure your current cadence and see if you need to change yours.
I like to keep my cadence constant no matter what speed I am going. This is REALLY tricky as you will be taking super small steps when going slow. Don't be closed minded and give it a go. See what happens.
