This is such a great tip!
Chunking down your race into smaller bite sized morsels is a great way for you to race a large event. This works well for smaller events too like a sprint....but I really like it for the longer races that seem to last forever.
The idea is to break down the race into smaller chunks. You can choose the chunks based on Time, Distance, Landmarks, Loops or something of your own creation.
I prefect distance for most events, but for hilly events like IM Whistler, I will often use the climbs as my chunks.
